I worked through Amadey on three contracts and had no problems. In my experience, it is a suitable crewing agency for starting out.
Amadey offered me a position as a third officer on a small-tonnage tanker. I was told that the salary would initially be $1,200 and might later increase to $2,500, while I was also asked to pay $1,000 for departure. It seemed suspicious to me, so I declined the offer.
