I worked for this company about five years ago, and my experience was extremely negative. The vessels were in poor condition, the internet was weak and expensive, supplies were practically unavailable, and the food was very poor. The crew conditions were also unacceptable, and I witnessed serious alcohol-related incidents onboard. I was later contacted several times and offered a return, but I would never go back.
I worked one contract for this company on a bulker. The company seemed more focused on its container fleet, so the supply of spare parts and provisions, as well as the general attitude toward the bulker fleet, was only average. On the positive side, the vessels had full crews, with enough personnel to handle the work, and there was relatively little paperwork and interference from the office. I also saw opportunities for career growth because of crew turnover, and the internet connection on the bulker I served on was fast.
I worked on one of the company's vessels and found the food supplies inadequate. The internet allowance was very limited and the connection was unreliable. The vessel's stores and provisions were replenished infrequently, and the crewing department did not properly handle contract extensions and sign-offs. The crew included seafarers from different countries, while some officers were inexperienced, and there was significant turnover.
I worked with this company and found it mainly suitable for gaining experience or increasing the size of my vessels. The ships were poorly maintained, supplies were inadequate, and the internet was limited and expensive. Crew changes could be delayed, with people remaining onboard on expired contracts, and crew members could be signed off shortly before a port call. The company also had weak office support and minimal attention to technical and operational needs.
The office support was extremely poor, and messages often went unanswered. Getting relieved from the vessel was a serious problem; some crew members stayed onboard for 9–11 months, sometimes with expired contracts that the company refused to renew. The vessels were old and in poor condition, with frequent PSC, flag and class inspections. I do not recommend this company.
