I recently left the Imperium Crewing Agency after working as a deck cadet on a Roro passenger ship. I was told the ship operated in the Mediterranean with an Italian crew, but upon arrival, I was met by an Albanian captain who informed me that I would be working as a steward and deckhand instead. The ship had been docked for seven years and had no plans to go to sea. My salary was paid in cash, and I was never fully compensated; I had to fight for my money. The food was terrible, and there were instances of discrimination where Ukrainian cadets were forced to do dangerous work while the Albanian crew did nothing. The contract was for six months, but the owner decided to send most of the crew home without paying for luggage or tickets, which were booked with a low-cost airline, leaving us to wait at the airport for ten hours. Overall, I advise against working with this crewing agency.
