I worked through the company once in 2022 as a Third Engineer. Before joining, I took a CES test and had a short interview with the director, then joined an old vessel and left after about three and a half months at my own request. The salary was paid on time, by the end of the month or earlier; the food and internet were satisfactory. The work schedule was not regulated, and the Greek management often made illogical decisions and required the Second Engineer to handle or supervise almost everything.
I currently work for Minerva Marine as an electromechanic on tankers. My current salary is 7,800, and it is paid on time. The company provides 7 GB of Starlink internet per week free of charge. I have seen Ukrainian crew members mainly among electromechanics and second officers, and the company also appears to be recruiting more women, including female second officers and deck cadets.
I sailed with Minerva on crude oil tankers, most recently on a newer vessel. Crew who were not Greek were treated noticeably worse than Greek colleagues. The company also ran a very hard spare-parts economy, and getting parts ordered was a constant struggle.
