In my experience, the internet and salary were fine, but the food was disappointing. I often had instant noodles, and the food quality was poor.
On my previous contract, there were two fitters in the crew, earning $3,200 and $3,500. The company also required numerous tests, including psychological questions, both before joining and during the voyage.
I worked for Seanergy and found that the fleet consisted largely of old, poorly maintained vessels. There was a great deal of paperwork, and the office repeatedly sent the same requests from different people. After dry-dock repairs, the vessels could be in worse condition than before; on one occasion, the paint peeled off after the first wash. I regretted joining from the first day and would not recommend the company.
I took the risk and joined a Seanergy vessel, and none of the negative claims I had heard beforehand were confirmed. The vessel was built in 2010 but was in much better condition than many older ships, and the workload was reasonable. Salary was credited on time, by the 25th, the food was better than expected, and the company offered bonuses. Overall, the company is workable and not the worst I have worked for.
