I worked through Ukrferry Shipmanagement with NSC in 2019 on Condor Bilbao. The crewing company provided all information about the vessel and shipowner by email. Free internet was 500 MB, and an additional 500 MB could be purchased for 5 dollars. The crew included Ukrainians, Poles, Romanians and other Europeans, and I was satisfied with everything, although I later moved to tanker work.
I worked for Ukrferry Shipmanagement on its ro-pax fleet and left with relief. The company did not provide cash advances, did not provide internet on board, and did not reimburse my medical examination; food costs were cut, including watering down mashed potatoes. Car securing and container work was unpaid, and the onboard environment involved Soviet-style workplace practices, including spying and searches of cabins in crew members’ absence. I strongly do not recommend this company.
I worked on the ro-pax ferry Vilnius. Salaries were very low, staff turnover was extremely high, and young crew members often left after only a few months. Crew members could be transferred to another position or dismissed without explanation. Promised transfers to another position were sometimes withdrawn on arrival when the captain refused to approve them. The onboard management was dominated by a long-term group of regular staff and unpleasant senior officers.
