I haven't been on Celebrity for a while, but not much changes there. As a 2nd officer, you assist the watch, fill out the logbook, etc. Working hours were 12 hours a day, but friends still there say it's reduced to 10, depending on who you work with. Mostly Greeks on board, with some Romanians and our people, but Greeks dominate. The pay for a second officer is around $4500, maybe a bit more. Outside of watch, you handle safety checks and a lot of paperwork, as they don't have a safety admin. Overall, it's a good company to learn the job, navigation, and safety. If you want to switch from cargo to passenger ships, it's a good opportunity. Good luck!
