I worked in the dock in the States. Salaries were delayed, and the attitude towards workers was terrible. They hire anyone without discrimination, regardless of experience or age, and only require a passport. The work is not related to the sea; it's just regular construction. You won't be treated as a sailor but as a laborer doing the dirtiest and hardest jobs. Pay is around 5 dollars an hour, while others doing less work earn 15 dollars or more. If you're new, you'll do the hardest work without breaks, and if you're in good with the supervisors, you might get different tasks, but the pay remains the same. It's a rotten company, and everyone knows it.
