I first contacted KSS-Trans Crewing in 2013. They tested my English and arranged individual lessons, saying that there would be a strict interview for passenger vessels and later promising me work on a yacht abroad. After I failed the interview, they kept promising the yacht position for about a month and charged me for a passenger certificate. In the end, there was no voyage, no refund for the certificate, and no job offer.
KSS-Trans Crewing was a normal company in my experience. I started through them as a motorman and later moved into a mechanic position on a new heavylift vessel. I passed an interview with the owners and went to sea; a commission was charged when I joined, but overall I was satisfied.
KSS-Trans Crewing took money from me and then demanded further payment for a voyage, but no voyage was arranged.
In 2012, KSS-Trans Crewing sent me on my first voyage as a second officer, even though I had just graduated from maritime college and had only cadet experience on a tugboat. I paid one month's salary for the placement, and the contract was such a terrible experience that I almost gave up working at sea.
