I worked through Teamship for one contract on a gas carrier but did not complete it. My experience with the company and its office management was very poor. I was also offered a vessel described as being built in 2022, but this was later changed to a vessel built in 2007. The whole process was chaotic, and the manager handling my case appeared incompetent.
I was contacted by Teamship about a container ship position with no vessel name or joining date. After I passed the interview, I was told that the vacancy had been filled, and later I was offered an urgent replacement position, but that arrangement also fell through shortly before the planned departure. I was then offered another vessel but was not confirmed. The recruitment process was confusing and ultimately did not lead to employment.
A Teamship recruiter contacted me with an offer for a tanker position that would only become available several months later, but insisted that I complete the tests and interview immediately. I explained that I was travelling and did not have time or a stable internet connection, and asked not to be contacted again until later. The recruiter continued to press me, which I found intrusive.
I contacted Teamship about officer vacancies. The office could not tell me which vessel the position was for, although I was expected to spend two or three weeks completing tests and interviews before learning whether I would be approved. In another exchange, the recruiter stopped responding after I asked several questions and later disappeared completely. The process felt like a waste of time.
