I worked as a cadet and found that the English skills among the crew were generally good. However, the quality of crew members can vary greatly. I had experiences with both top professionals and less competent individuals. Compared to some other nationalities, the difference is significant.
I participated in an audit where we accepted several vessels for transfer from one management to another and for class renewal. The top management was competent, with excellent English skills, and they knew their job well. They even shared information that they technically shouldn't have shared.
I applied for many job vacancies by sending my CV to all their email addresses and through WhatsApp to all their phone numbers, but received no response at all. Considering that I have nearly 20 years of experience in a top position, this seems quite strange and raises doubts about the reality of all the job vacancies they post.
