Odessa company combining ship management (technical, safety and financial) with crew management — recruitment, flag endorsements and training. Also runs marine repair squads and develops marine software.
I completed an engine cadetship through Staff Centre Management on a dry cargo vessel. There were no major problems. The internet was slow but free and always worked, payment was always on time, and the food was generally satisfactory, depending on the cook. Overall, I had no complaints and would consider working through them.
I worked on a bulk carrier through this company. The internet was free, the provisions were excellent, there were no insects, and salary was paid on time. The fleet consisted of one Cape-size vessel and two Handy-size vessels, with another Cape-size vessel apparently being acquired. The crews were family-oriented.
I worked through this company in 2022 in the deck department. The internet and salary payments were the only positive aspects, and salary was paid on time. There was no extra payment for tank cleaning or overtime, and it was a family-oriented vessel. I no longer want to work in such conditions.
I completed four contracts on a Cape-size bulk carrier arranged through this company. Salary was always paid on time, and no departure fee was charged. However, complaints about the masters were ignored by the crewing management; the masters created conflicts and pressured the bridge team, while the galley was run mainly for the master. Internet access was very poor, and the crew could spend two or three hours trying to receive a message through Telegram or WhatsApp while the master downloaded five YouTube videos in a day.
I worked through this crewing company for a couple of contracts on a bulk carrier. When we complained about the master and chief officer, the complaints were ignored by the crewing management. We eventually complained directly to the management office abroad, after which both officers were removed. The local office then questioned why we had complained and said we should not have done so.
I completed a contract arranged through this crewing company with Oscar Wehr. The office had a very old-fashioned atmosphere and staff behaved as if they were doing sailors a favor by giving them work. My experience with the contract itself was fairly good, but overall the crewing service was a 50/50 experience.
I contacted this crewing company about an urgent placement and submitted all the requested documents. I paid €300 for an urgent medical examination, but after that they stopped responding for several days. Later they offered me another vessel and a different, flag-state medical examination, but I decided not to proceed. They also deleted the correspondence from the messaging apps.
